Bully's Pulpit
President Theodore
Roosevelt referred to the White House as a "bully pulpit". "Bully",
during that era, was popularized by Roosevelt as an adjective
meaning "great" or "superb". And all presidents since have
understood how to utilize the prestige of the superb platform that
is the White House.
It
has become increasingly clear, however, that President Barack Obama
seems to have misinterpreted the adjective "bully" for a noun. Indeed,
Mr Obama seems quite confused lately on not only his adjectives and
nouns, but also on the facts. It is almost as though the president
really doesn't care what anyone thinks. Which was exactly the
impression Mr Obama gave when he publicly ridiculed members of the
US Supreme Court during his State Of The Union address.
Associate Justice Samuel Alito rightly took offense to the
President's using the SOTU to grandstand to his anti-everything
base. The justices, Mr Obama knew, would just have to sit and take
it, no matter blatantly the president distorted the facts. Justice
Alito could clearly be seen mouthing the word "untrue".
And those who might have taken the time to note the expression on
Alito's face, as he looked up at the president, should also have
picked up on the word "bully". The noun. Read

State Of The Progressive Mess

What state our
union is in. What a mess. The economic downward spiral of the
country continues with progressive job losses, progressive increases
in unsustainable debt, progressive declines in home values, and a progressive devaluation of our currency. A
progressive loss of confidence in the competency and
integrity of our elected officials instills fear for the future.
America awaited, with cautious optimism, President Obama's address
to the nation last night. The president, it is was rumored, had heard
the voices of the American people. Mr Obama was willing to admit
that perhaps a more centrist approach was in order.
Such rumors instantly spread outrage among the distant left. They
had voted for a Che Guevara, and ended up with a Harry Truman.
OMSNBC talk hosts could be seen visibly struggling to hold in the
word "traitor".
Today, however, all is well on the leftist front. Ideology has
proved to be more important than common sense and prudence.
President Barack Obama's solution for stabilizing the floundering
ship of state? A progressive intake of water. Read

Safeguard Your Donations To People Of
Haiti
The
heart of America is pouring out to the people of Haiti. There will
be an outpouring of generosity to fund the massive relief effort for
a nation already beleaguered by heart wrenching poverty. Millions of
American dollars will help to provide the search and rescue teams, medical
personnel and supplies, food, water, clothing and temporary shelter
required to sustain the earthquake survivors. Millions of dollars
more will be needed to rebuild what infrastructure they had. Every
one of those dollars will be crucial to the success of the relief
efforts.
So it is absolutely critical that as donors we maintain responsible
vigilance over our naturally giving hearts or the money will be
wasted. And those we sought to help will continue to suffer.

Liberal Racial Hypocrisy Is No "Game
Change"
It
almost seems as if the conservative talk show circuit has shut down.
Disastrous healthcare legislation negotiations being conducted in
secrecy at the White House? President Barack Obama's imminent plans
for global warming tax mandates and amnesty for illegal aliens?
Congress drooling over the prospect of another earmark laden bogus
stimulus bill? Barely a peep.
Right now the only news seems to be the old news, as contained in
the new political "blockbuster" Game Change. Liberals are hypocrites
on race and free speech.
Liberal hypocrisy, on anything however, is actually the oldest news
somehow still surviving as "news". And for some reason conservative
talk show hosts are wasting precious airtime broadcasting it. Read

Wanna Stop Obamacare?
In
a recent article on our Radiant Cross Right To Life blog, Abortion
Incorporated 2010, we made clear that the only way to "stop the
abortion mandate", which is certain to be incorporated into whatever
form of Obamacare passes, is to defeat the healthcare bill itself.
And, of course, Abortion aside, the bill will do nothing to improve,
or lower the cost of, healthcare in America and is terrifying in its
scope and implications for the future. We concluded the article by
exhorting one and all to continue to rain down letters, e-mails and
phone calls on Capitol Hill, and to remember above all the power of
faith.
And now, seemingly right out of the God works in mysterious ways
category, there is indeed a clear ray of hope piercing the dreadful dark
clouds of Obamacare hovering over the nation. Massachusetts
Republican State Senator Scott Brown is suddenly on the verge of
capturing Ted Kennedy's former senate seat. Read

Constitutional
Amendment To Protect Marriage
The
intensity of radical homosexuality's virulent assault on the
institution of marriage has sharply escalated following the nation
wide defeat of same-sex marriage initiatives in Nov.
Homosexual
marriage has nothing to do with "civil rights". And
clearly the issue cannot, as hoped, be settled by the states. Voters
(we actually need to vote on this?) have repeatedly, and
overwhelmingly, rejected the concept only to have their votes
overridden by activist judges.
It
is time to demand that our representatives in Washington pass a
constitutional amendment defining marriage as solely being a union
between one man and one woman.

State "Interposition" To
Roe v Wade
"Judicial
Activism" has evolved into a commonly accepted practice in America's
federal courts. Many liberal judges clearly feel empowered to create
constitutional rights based upon their particular views of society's
needs and ills. And the beginning of this corruption of our
judiciary can be directly traced back to the 1973 Roe v Wade Supreme
Court decision which created a non-existent right to abortion in
America.
To anyone with a true understanding of the principals of the
founding fathers, Roe v Wade is clearly unconstitutional because it
denies an entire group of citizens, America's most helpless
citizens, the fundamental right to life. But considering the current
composition of the Supreme Court, and the political climate in
Washington, Roe v Wade will likely stand for the foreseeable future.
So other paths must be pursued in defending the rights of the
unborn, and a new avenue of attack was suggested by Rabbi Yehuda
Levin during the 2010 March For Life in January.

Pro-Life Super Bowl
Showdown
Pro-life
sentiment continues to mount in America and the struggle to protect
the rights of the unborn will take another major step forward on
Super Bowl Sunday. 2007 Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow and his
mother Pam will be featured in a 30 second commercial titled
"Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life".
Sponsored by Dr James Dobson's Focus On The Family, the Super Bowl
spot will cover Pamela Tebow's courageous decision not to abort her
child against the advice of physicians. The child, Tim, turns out to
have been born quite healthy.
The Tebow family hopes that the recounting of Pamela's decision will
inspire women facing a similar dilemma to choose life for their
children. But that can only happen if the ad actually runs as
scheduled. Read

Abortion Incorporated 2010
Though
it might not seem so considering events in Washington, 2009 was a
better year for the pro-life community than it was for Abortion
Incorporated, the radical hardcore abortion lobby.
President Barack Obama, backed to the hilt by a progressive
democratic leadership in congress, did everything his newly acquired
power permitted in making good on his campaign commitments to the
abortion industry that spent heavily to place him in the White
House.
Yet for the first time in those 36 years a majority of Americans
polled consider themselves to be pro-life. America is rethinking
abortion and the struggle for the rights of America's unborn is
being won in hearts and minds across the country. But Americans will
not be allowed to "choose" life without a fight. Abortion
Incorporated intends to confront that escalating pro-life sentiment
with the the full force of the federal government.

Ample Time For Redemption
Nebraska
democratic Senator Ben Nelson sold out. It's true and the pro-life
community is disappointed, angered and despondent. Sen Nelson had
repeatedly vowed that he would not vote for the senate version of
"healthcare reform" unless the bill included strict language
prohibiting the use of federal funds for abortion.
Instead, at the 11th hour, Senator Nelson caved. Not to pressure,
but to temptation. A $100 million payoff to Nelson by way of a
permanent exemption from increased state contributions to Medicaid
for Nebraska. In return, Senator Nelson disgraced himself by
agreeing to accept watered down restrictions regarding federal
funding of abortions.
Senator Nelson has been roundly castigated. And deservedly so. But
he surely has heard our voices and now is the time to forgive. We
all err, and we all succumb to temptation on occasion. And in
Senator Nelson's case there is ample time for a generally staunch
defender of the unborn to make amends and find redemption. Read

Coat Hanger Hysteria
Berkeley, CA has
once again distinguished itself in the category of, well let's just
say unseemly public behavior. The Berkley City Council, by a vote of
8 - 1, yesterday voted to send letters of displeasure to 20
democratic members of the US House Of Representatives who had voted
in favor of the Stupak-Pitts Amendment to the House "healthcare
reform" bill. The Stupak amendment prohibits tax payer funding of
abortions.
Mixed in
with the hundreds of thousands of other letters already pouring into
the House expressing "displeasure" over you name it, the council's
letters needed that extra Berkley touch to get the special attention
correspondence from Berkley deserves. And when progressives have the
need to express themselves on abortion they usually like to say it
with coat hangers.
So with each unhappy letter, the Berkley City Council included
a coat hanger.
Sure, everyone gets the extremely clever idea. But this tasteless
display of feminist effrontery says more about the bitter, obsessive
nature of the abortion lobby than anything else. Read

Defeating
The "Freedom Of Choice Act"
President
Obama has lulled some in the pro-life community into a degree of
complacency by his statement on April 29 that "the Freedom of Choice
Act is not highest legislative priority." That was the president's
intention. And any such complacency on our part could very well be a
fatal error for America's unborn.
In his Clintonesque way, the president is telling the truth. The
FOCA will not be brought up for debate in congress. Because it would
be unlikely to pass. The president, instead, intends to foist every
one of the FOCA's provisions upon the nation by mandate, as integral
components of "healthcare reform".
